The MCB is open Mondays to Fridays from 08.00 hrs – 15.30 hrs non-stop.

Offices and stores are usually open from 08.00 hours until 17.00 hrs.
Supermarkets are open at 08.00 hours and usually remain open until 20.00 hrs.
Mini Markets open between 7.00hrs to 21/22.00hrs.

Renting a car is one of the easiest and most convenient ways to explore Sint Eustatius at your own pace. Please note that there is no public transportation available on the island.

Visitors with a valid foreign or international driver’s license are allowed to drive on Statia. For more information about car rental options and local transportation, please contact your hotel or visit the tourist information desk at the airport.

Generally dry and sunny. Light constant northeast trade winds bring constant cool breezes and sufficient moisture to keep the average daytime temperature down to about 27 degrees Celsius. St. Eustatius, affectionately called Statia, is approximately 5 miles/8 km long and 2 miles/3.2 km wide, covering a total of 11.8 square miles or approximately 30.6 square kilometres. The island is located in the north eastern Caribbean.

As of January 1, 2025, Sint Eustatius has an estimated population of approximately 3,300 residents. Despite its small size, the island is home to people from more than 20 nationalities who live together in harmony, contributing to Statia’s welcoming and multicultural community.

Visitors to Statia are welcome at all houses of worship. The following religions have services on the island: Seventh Day Adventist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Jehovah Witnesses, Baptist, Anglican, Apostolic Faith, Pentecostal and None Denominational Church.

The water provided by the local water company is produced through three reverse Osmosis Plants.
Reverse osmosis is a process that removes foreign contaminants, solid substances, large molecules and minerals from water by using pressure to push it through specialized membranes. The system improves water for drinking, cooking and other important uses.
