Sint Eustatius Showcased at TravDay 2026 in the Netherlands

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the international visibility of Sint Eustatius, Communication Specialist Eriënne Brandao recently represented the island at TravDay 2026 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. The event brought together destinations, tour operators and travel professionals from across the Dutch travel sector to connect, share trends and explore new partnerships.
Held on April 21, 2026, TravDay is recognized as one of the key networking events within the Dutch travel industry. Participation allowed Sint Eustatius to further position itself as a distinctive Caribbean destination for travelers seeking authentic experiences, rich culture and unspoiled nature.
During the event, the island was promoted as the “Hidden Gem of the Caribbean,” highlighting the unique combination of history, diving, hiking, culture and tranquility that makes Statia stand out within the region.
A key focus of the participation was strengthening relationships with Dutch travel professionals and tour operators interested in offering travelers more meaningful and off-the-beaten-path Caribbean experiences. By engaging directly with industry representatives, the island continues to expand opportunities for future tourism partnerships and visitor growth from the European market.
Visitors at the Statia presentation booth were also introduced to the island through digital storytelling created by local content creators StellaRoseMedia and KengiOffTheGrid. Through vibrant visual content, attendees experienced glimpses of Statia’s Carnival celebrations, Easter traditions, Statia Day festivities, natural beauty and everyday island life.
To create a more immersive experience, visitors were invited to physically connect with the island through samples of Statia’s volcanic black sand and local coral displays. This interactive presentation helped bring the atmosphere and identity of the island closer to visitors in the Netherlands.
From the historical streets of Oranjestad to the island’s world-class diving sites and scenic landscapes, Sint Eustatius made a memorable impression at TravDay 2026. The St. Eustatius Tourism Development Foundation looks forward to building on these new connections and welcoming future visitors to experience the island firsthand.
